This week’s signal. This week’s pick. What to do with both.

Before this week’s pick — how have the last seven done?
I’ve been publishing one QuantRank every week since early August. Here’s every single one, no cherry-picking, marked to Friday’s close:
Five winners, two losers, an average return across all seven that’s meaningfully ahead of just holding the index over the same stretch. I’m not naming the tickers here — free subscribers get the full history with names below, and each one has its own article if you want the reasoning behind it.
Now to the stock I’m Buying Monday, Sept 28
Most people know this company as the one that sells laptops to their office IT department. That’s not wrong, but it’s increasingly not the point.
A quarter that used to be about PC margins and enterprise storage renewals just produced numbers that would have seemed almost unimaginable for this company a few years ago: revenue up 58% year over year, GAAP earnings per share up 273%, and a $95 billion AI-server backlog — larger than the $88.4 billion in total revenue the entire company generated in fiscal 2024, just two years ago.
My model doesn’t read earnings calls. It doesn’t know what “AI server backlog” means, and it has no opinion on analyst price targets. It just ranks all 450+ stocks the same quantitative way, every week — and this week, this one landed at #4.
Signal: BUY.
Capital stays invested — core and pick both.
